Xmas is coming again! Yay!

And today we put up decorations. Joe's Observation Post in the tree was cleverly hidden. Joe, armed with his trusty 1911 sidearm, binoculars, and a radio, is ready to observe any Christmas festivities and report them to the Joe Command Post downstairs. Here's a pic of ever-vigilant vintage Man of Action on duty:


There is actually a cardboard "treehouse" platform in there around the trunk that's been artfully camouflaged with boughs and greenery. The Joe Observation Post has been a Xmas tradition since the kids were little. They've all grown and left now, but the tradition lives on. When they show up on Xmas, it's the first thing they look for... the Operation Xmas O.P.! Santa Joe (driving his dogsled, with a red-nosed lead dog) has yet to be put up over the tree. He's usually armed with a white M1 Garand, just in case he runs into an angry polar bear or the evil Krampus. We'll wait for Xmas week to put Santa Joe up (it's actually the General Lee figure with and SA body). Fun!
