  • Selling Stuff? The next Stage of our hobby?

Wow!! It has been several years since I have been on here and a lot of has changed. Just looking through the classified section and seeing some familiar handles is very comforting. I am recently divorced and find myself with more extra Joes than I have space for. I am not in a rush to sell stuff, as I haven't inventoried it, but I am wondering what the best route is.

I am shy of Ebay since they like to generate 1099 forms. Does everything lead to Facebook?

    Keep Joeing..

There are other options like Mercari and What Not. Haven't tried either of these, so I can't comment on them.

Hi Jay, been awhile. If you are able, the best route in my opinion is going to a show. Or find folks who share your interest and say you are willing to sell. Only thing I would caution you is pricing. A lot of folk, myself included, are repelled by folks that say the phrase "whattya give me for it". Come p with what you want for the piece and leave room to haggle. Stuff will sell faster that way.

And if you do a show, make sure there is a price on everything. When I got to shows and the dealer has nothing priced, I walk away without looking.

Thank you for the feedback. A Joe Show seems like a fun way to go.

Also keep in mind, if you go to a show like the Kentucky show, which is in a few weeks, you don't necessarily need a table. You could go to a dealer and tell them you have stuff to sell. This is only if you want to unload what you have. But there are some dealers that will give you fair price. Also, you may want to contact Cotswold and see if they will do a consignment sale. Just a thought
