  • USMC Shirts and Trouser Detail

I'm not a vintage details guy... I am more of a vintage guy-who-plays-with-toys. But I just noticed my vintage PH USMC guy has pockets on his shirt and trousers. My OTHER vintage PH USMC guy has no pockets on his shirt and stitched outlines of pockets on his pants. I didn't check inside tags for Hong Kong versus Japan or whatnot because that wouldn't have meant anything to me anyhow. Which came first? Hmmm...

Dave, what you have is the carded Marine uniform, sold separately in the mid 60's. Boxed Marines came with no pocket shirts and pants. Carded pants have stitched front pockets and two rear patch pockets, shirts also had pockets with buttons. As far as tags, No country of origin, Japan, Hong Kong in that order are most common, No Country being the hardest to find. (Not to mention Okinawa tagged uniforms which can be quite $$$)

As far as Sgt Fury? Yeah, that is a one piece jump suit that zips. Also tagged Capt Action.
