Some years ago I bought a figure lot on the bay. One of the figures was a Dragon figure that was a Samurai. Two other figures were M&C toys martial arts figures that I'm not aware were sold in the US.
The Samurai was dressed from the waist up. I bought three dark navy jumpsuits from blackopstoys on the bay to dress them in. My plan was a "Triad" type force as adversaries for Joe.
But lately I felt that the Samurai figure didn't look right in the jumpsuit. So I started looking at ways to restore him as a Samurai in traditional clothing. I found some pants, handmade, from a seller in NY.
The traditional footwear I could find were pegged type feet, which the figure didn't have. I found some sandals, closest to what I wanted, once again from blackoptoys.
I got them, although the sandals are not historically accurate. I had a Kaybee Toys exclusive set, which included a HOF Grunt figure called the martial arts specialist. I liked the equipment and shirt and
pants, but not the figure. And as I recall the set was not expensive.
Using the pants, sandals and equipment from the Kaybee set, I have put together this figure.
I have not completed the other figures, but they will be led by the figure Miss Fear. The others include the two M&C figures and an Asian Cy girl. I'm still working on her outfit, and the accessories for the "twins," the two M&C figures
that came in the lot.
I hope you like him.
