I mentioned a while back I picked up a talker at the Kentucky show that was "less than perfect". He had pretty much been played with to death. He was floppy, had hair and chin rubs, faded parts and missing string. He was so bad in fact, the dealer gave him to me and said, see what you can do. Well, he cleaned up pretty nice. Reflocked the head and figured with the uniform on, the faded parts would all but be hidden, or blend in. I started to tinker with the talk box and realized fast it was WAY beyond my abilities. So I boxed him up and sent him to Scott Wilde for repairs. Got busy here and forgot about it. Scott contacted me yesterday and said it was one of the worst ones he has ever worked on. Said someone really tried to fix it themselves and really did a number on it. Said he worked on it for 4 hours which is a long time for a "minor" repair. He did say he was happy to report that it was fixed and he was on his way home. He also said congratulations on your new talking Pilot. I guess someone swapped heads thinking he would be worth more as a talking commander. Talking Pilot? SCORE! Now to see if I have a spare flight suit here. I bought a nice two pocket talking commander uniform from Derryl DePreist for him, but that ain't gonna work now.
