I purchased these 4 hombres from FB marketplace today. They should arrive in a week or so, and I'm excited to have them in my collection. Especially Captain Action! I've never had him before, but do have one of his uniforms.

      • Back in the day, when those Captain Action figures were on clearance, I bought some of them so I could do leg and abdomen swaps with the regular GI joes. Top half was hasbro, in the bottom half was Captain Action. I ended up with GI Joe's that could actually SIT. Great on tanks, jeeps and the like.

        • Capt Action has the longest arms though. I have three vintage outfits, but only one complete. My Batman is complete, Superman only missing a few small parts and Aquaman missing his trident. Kid Action Robin is a work in progress as well.
I'm only missing his accessories. They are getting harder and more expensive to complete. But really dig the line. I remember the neighbor kid had them growing up.

          • I picked up the re-issues Capt. Action Dr. Evil from the mid-90's on clearance when I worked at TRU. They are nice figures. I have them in a tote somewhere. I would love to get my hands on a vintage one.
BTW, nice score Myles. I need to start looking around on Marketplace more.

            • Yeah, Marketplace has some good finds, and sometimes great prices. These 4 the seller wanted a total of $100 for plus shipping. And the LA even has a tag!

              • $100 for all 4? That's $20 a piece. Not bad, not bad at all.

                  • I've been buying things again. I ordered a repro Captain Action suit from 3rd Son books, and a few other things. I have the cap, and maybe the boots (if I'm lucky). I'll look around when I have more time. I also found a Kenner die cast Star Destroyer on Facebook marketplace, and drove to Madison last week to pick it up. The guy also had Gi Joes he was willing to sell. So I asked him to send photos.

Tonight I heard back from the guy in Madison, WI. He sent several photos, and he did his homework on current prices. I may not be able to afford much, but I have my eye on a Blonde MOA and a few uniform sets. Tomorrow he'll send photos of accessories. I think I'll plan another trip to Madison to inspect some of the uniforms. I need to see the condition especially of the shore patrol uniform. I'd love to have a nice minty one. They are getting hard to find.

Once I get an idea of what I want and can afford, I'll post photos of my purchases. Nice to be acquiring some new Joes and equipment. And from the original owner.

                    • Tomorrow I'm driving to Madison again, and will look through a childhood collection of a man who has moved on to Star Trek collecting. I'm not sure how much I can afford - but hope we can make a deal for all the stuff I want. There's some nice things there, like a nice blonde MOA, a Mummy's Tomb ATV, a siesmograph, couple of pairs of short black boots, and a pair of long brown boots, sailor hats, a marine helmet and army helmet, two AT book and record sets, a comic for Skyhawk adventure, A rescue raft set with paddle, two nice AT Land Adventurer uniforms and one possibly nice shore patrol outfit plus billy club with tassle. I'm not sure what else is in good shape, but some of this is. I'll post a photo of my loot when I can. Hopefully tomorrow.

                      • Today's haul. I passed on the ATV. The winch had broken brackets that hold the structure to the ATV. they had been "fixed" by melting them back on. The marine helmet was knockoff and the army helmet had no lugs or straps. The shore patrol uniform was knockoff. Probably Fighting Yank. And missing the blue kerchief. I picked up some perfect silver boots. And also a vintage metal dog tag.

                        • Nice score, especially the book and records. I am currently collecting all the Power Records books. I grab them when I find them. I got a few Star Trek ones complete with records at a Pinball expo of all places. I went for the video games, not pinball.

                          • My records are very warped. I'll try putting them in sunlight for an hour or two and then pressing them. Funny, I got this Joe stuff from a guy on Facebook who was only selling a die cast 1977 Star Destroyer. When I met him, he mentioned he has a lot of his original Gi Joe stuff he wanted to sell. So I got in on this. He doesn't like Ebay, but I gave him a link to the Facebook Trenches. Maybe you'll see him there one day soon. His prices are on the high side though.

                            • Tonight I've realized a longtime goal. I finally got a GIJCC Comrade of Action for my collection. I had one before and am sure I sold it. Either that or he orchestrated an escape! So I won one on Ebay tonight and should have him here soon. I also have a 70s era Russian uniform from the SOW Gi Joe collection. This one is Geyperman, but it's original. My Comrade of Action will wear the Russian uniform until he gets his AT uniform. I hope that won't be such a long quest.

                              • The GIJCC Comrade of Action arrived today, in his original packaging from the Club, and in his green skivvies. I'm still waiting for the accessory set of the Russian SOW from Hobbycrash, so he'll have to tough it out in my air conditioned house for now. I'm now on the hunt once again for an Comrade of Action accessory set from the Club. I'm not sure anyone has them. It's been over 10 years. I'll try at the shows I attend this year, and maybe I'll get lucky.
